Upon relocating to Europe from Los Angeles in 1986, my first serious body of work was painting that could best be described as Surrealism. It predominated my technique for the following 12 years. Intrigued by imaginative and cryptic art, and coming from a strong representational background, surrealism enabled me to express my fantasies through the template and locations that inspired me within my new environment of Switzerland.
